The influx of Chinese immigrants to the Caribbean since the mid 1800’s to date, has greatly influenced Jamaican cuisines resulting in a rich marriage of flavor, color and texture.
Add a little sweet and spicy to your regular stir-fry and relive those spicy vacation moments all over again.
1.5 Lbs. beef top sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain into strips
2 Tablespoons Island Spice Oxtail Seasoning
2 Tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
1 Teaspoon Honey
1 Tablespoon Canola Oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
4 garlic cloves, peeled and sliced
1 Teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
1 red bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
Salt & Pepper to taste
1. Season beef strips with 1 tablespoon oxtail seasoning and let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
2. Whisk soya sauce, honey and 1 tablespoon oxtail seasoning in a small bowl and set aside.
3. In a large non-stick skillet or wok, over high heat, add canola oil followed by onions, garlic and ginger. Slightly sauté the mix then add seasoned beef strips.
4.Once beef strips start to brown (about 2 minutes) stir in red and green peppers under medium heat.
5. Whisk in soya sauce mix and let everything cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add salt & pepper to taste.
Serve sizzling beef stir-fry over a bed of rice or noodles.
